KARACHI: Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah suffered a major setback after his elbow injury was aggravated, sourced revealed on Friday.
The right-arm speedster underwent surgery on his right elbow few days back in Lahore and is likely to stay out of action for the next four to five months.
Despite the injury, Ihsanullah continued to do weight training which led to a fracture.
The surgery was advised by doctors in England after going through Ihsanullah’s reports.
Ihsanullah has been discharged from the hospital and has started his rehabilitation programme.
Sources added that the pacer is unlikely to feature in the Test series against Australia towards the end of 2023 and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next year.
The 20-year-old has played one ODI and four T20Is over the course of his brief career for Pakistan cricket team, so far. He made his debut in the limited-overs format earlier this year.
